To my beautiful brothers and sisters (and my beautiful non-binary beings),

My heart is going out to us all more than ever. Much of what is popularized in mainstream media regarding police brutality upon us is nothing new to us. This topic is far from fresh to us. I think we are allowed to be tired and upset. We are allowed to self-care. We are beautiful and I hope my work serves as a symbol of the profoundly ethereal beauty and depth many of our women are rarely portrayed as within Eurocentric and fine-art contexts. We shall overcome as we always have <3

To our allies and advocates, the ones who have been consistent, humble, curious, determined, and understanding: thank you.

I also want to thank our ancestors for the strength they have passed onto us and future generations. May humanity continue to step forth in the name of equality and compassion.

Please stay safe and informed.

Love,

LenaKrystyna
